Hola Marija!

Marija! :) it's nice to see that your portfolio, your fanclub and your award collection have all grown bigger since the last time i was here ;) here follows my first gentle comment after a month of inactivity:
the silhouettes of one lamp post and one man in front of some beautiful sky are often all that's needed for a strong image that usually conveys a solitary mood...provided all three of them cooperate succesfully to support this certain mood. ok,you have all the essentials here...but the human factor had apparently something else in his mind and this makes his figure distracting,in my eyes at least. you see, after opening an image of this style i would expect myself to relax and enjoy the peaceful simplicity instead of thinking whether he is picking his nose or brushing his teeth...
should i comment on composition now?.... ;)
bye Marija, and be happy!

what looks simple requires lots of labour....I appreciate the ability of your mind to catch even the smallest whiff of poetry around...really great

Beautiful composition in b/w that I love a lot. Good graphical approach and I think is very beautiful the bundle of light that covers from the tall the silhouettes... Very good the final result, with simplicity. My compliments Marija, G.

Dear Marija, my sweet friend...I do... and also I'm glad you're back I know by reading your commnets to my photo of Moconá called "Little woman", thanks... but also about your image -this image- shows a style...a high criteria of composition, you know the classical Da Vinci's gold rule about composition and how our eyes read an image from left to right and the weigth of each object are important... y would like a small crop on right side to unbalance things. However this are rules and they are meant to break them!(and I break them all the time), although its good to break them, it is also recomendable to know them, first! Best regards. keep on! Luis

Hi James, it's great to hear from you. I like the word you used - 'minimalistic':) I love that style, but I realize more and more that it is harder to achieve simplicity than it seems. Thank you!

Nice framed minimalist silhouette against a (slightly more) complex background. This juxtaposition has worked well for you. You have a very good eye for the camera.

HIIII! I am SO glad you're back! I've felt as though I've been walking in the dark by myself this week, but I wanted to see if I could do it. People have been very nice so far, although sort of few and far between...but that's to be expected. I dropped Paolo a line, 'cause I saw his comments in your photo, and he said he's not posting here anymore. :(
Anyway - enough of my chit-chat. Well, except that I hope you had a great week at the beach, and I know you've got some wonderful photos to share, as always.
This one is a quiet one. Solitary and minimalistic - were you feeling that way? :) Nice compo and I love the cloud "ceiling" across the top.
All of a sudden, I feel better.:)))) Write me when you can, sweetie.
Gayle :)
