City - St. John's State - NEWFOUNDLAND Country - Canada
About
Just around the corner from the entrance to St. John's harbour, Newfoundland, on the way up to the top of Signal Hill. Note to self: 40 year old prairie boys should not attempt to climb up very tall pointy hills on only three hours sleep.
Thanks, Mary - it was a beautiful scene. You can't tell by the picture, but the wind was incredible. If I'd had my tripod, a longer shot to get more pronounced whitecaps would have been nice. The different colours to the water between this shot and the last one (of the harbour mouth) is interesting. The harbour water WAS quite green, now that I think about it, but it is surprising to me how much darker the water in this little bay (just a mile or so up the coast, if that) is. Different angle of light? Some funny colour balance in the camera? I'll never know :-]
I love this- it is just gorgeous. Reminds me of Wicklow. The colours and the clarity wonderful. Great sea. Just love the freshness and the stretch the eyes vision.
