Thanks Aziz. Doyle posted a B&W version, but I'm not sure which I prefer. I feel that the bold colours are somehow appropriate for the graphic shapes of lines and curves.

Thanks Doyle. I wouldn't mind the grain (colour or B&W) if that's what I had intended, but it certainly wasn't.
As far as I understand, it really should not be this grainy at ISO 200. (The built-in lens was at full zoom for this shot - not sure how this would affect the equation.) This and other issues with the A2 (softness, lack of macro ability) have got me thinking about an upgrade and the D70s is currently top of my list. But is it really the equipment that is underperforming?

LOVE this photo. Sometimes simple is better. Reminds me of all the times I've waited for a flight hoping to catch a few zzz's.

Great composition John and wonderfully seen. You're right about the pano mode . . . and you KNOW just saying don't do it will make it more likely to be done . . . but I always check both anyway. A really good shot but for the technical issues like grain (at 200 ISO?). I wonder if a convert to old B&W style would make the grain an advantage? Just a thought but I do like the color version here!

Hi Sara! Yes, I remember! Thanks for your comment. This was not actually shot in pano mode as such, but cropped from a standard format image.

Thanks Hugo. This question of noise and my ongoing concerns about softness make me wonder if it's time to upgrade from the A2. Is it me or is it the A2?!

Hi John,
I agree with your remark about the pano mode; the image and scene offer enough to arouse the interest. Good candid photo - Quite some noise at only 200 ISO, though! Rather surprising, but never the less a quite appealing shot, nicely compsoed, and the medium size pano works nicely together with the arrangement of subjects.
Cheers,
Hugo
