About
Rose Dust.
It doesn’t matter anymore The simple things I did once adore Like cherry blossom falling from the tree Reminisce of pure, pink, fragranced, confetti
The pure green fields and rainbows up high Make me want to curl up, want to die And the birdsong now reach closed off ears The beauty abound, now brings only tears
The soothing sea, only brings me pain A reminder of ‘what if’ drives me insane The flowers again, crumble to dust with me Love lost long ago, a bitter legacy
In time they say, the pain will die I say in that they’re wrong, in that they lie The aches as strong today as it was then The difference, you get used to it in the end
Complicated this life now sits Upon my shoulders the weight won’t lift The light now dims with my despair A lonely life with out you there
And all around in the joy I see Reminds me only of the loss to me Once a heart that beat so well Now a corpse in an iron shell
Bless... no hoover bag involved here! Thanks for the comment Danny... may even offer a prize to the first person who can figure out how I dusted the rose.. lol x
Sorry to hear that it is your Dad's anniversary Sue. Whatever anyone says, nothing takes it away and life is never the same again. Your image and words are a great tribute. Great you kept that Hofner however dusty it is! Just look at the idea it gave you- the dust well worth it.
Thank you Mary.... your comment means a great deal to me.
This is a 12 string Hofner (alas... been years since I've played) Was my fathers guitar... guess you could say I've been reflecting on the past of late... it's the anniversary of his death this month & guess this is my sort of tribute for him... I know he would have loved this photo (though sure he is cursing me for letting the hofner get so dusty & unused!)
Anyway.. guess it took quite a bit for me to put those words together... thank you again... greatly appreciated as always.
Is this a 12 string Hofner I see? Brilliant guitar. But more important, a stunning picture and verse Sue. The "Rose dust" verse and image could hardly be seen apart. So strikingly poignant. "Corpse in an iron shell" so powerful - instantly had me hearing "Man in an iron mask" by Paul Young from "Secret of association" album. Hadn't heard it for years.
Thank you Austin.. It's meant to be like that... adjusted in photoshop using a satin layer to fade the colour & add sheen & then used the eraser tool to bring out the colour of the rose & highlight the dust on it with the dodge tool.
Not all of life is bright & vibrant... thank you anyway for taking the time to comment on my work... greatly appreciated.
