Yes, I too have captured Great Blue Heron. I haven't have seen white Heron. Heron is one of my favourite bird to catpure.
BTW, you have excellent lens too.

Many times it's possible to catch them in this level. It's a fast bird when it's hunting but very exiting to capture.

Very good sharpness and excellent DOF. Egret seems to be at eye level creating a visual link between viewer and the bird. Excellent.

Yes it's a nice lens, but big and heavy. But hanging on the backpack strip in the front it's possible to carry it around.
The lens was handheld.
