Another well succeeded experiment, john, very pleasing to the eye with its never-ending turns & rainbow-colors. I'm rather late in responding to comments, John, partly due to being otherwise engaged, partly for objective reasons. Nevertheless I thank you now for your very kind comment on my photo. I didn’t put any details up about this one originally because I thought it worked better as an uncommented optical puzzle. But now here’s some background…
This is a “spring thing that jumps down stairs” (in the wonderful words of Art McCaffrey…). It’s photographed in bright sunlight, bent so that it forms a semicircle. Oh, and it’s placed over a CD to produce those colour highlights.
I didn’t post this for a while as I wasn’t sure about it. Each time I looked I saw it differently: there seems to be an optical illusion that confuses whether the tube is seen from the inside from right to left, or from the outside from left to right.
