surreal, and very cool. I vote to leave the boats in! They add to the overall randomness. Now to get picky - I'd have liked it even more if the sax-playing dog's reflection was complete. H:)

Incongruous ? Yeah, that's for sure ! :-) I did make me smile, I have to say. Yet, cropping a bit at the bottom and on the right improves the composition imo.
I also have a little regret about the disappearing black eye on the dark side of the face, but there wsn't much you could do about it...:-) Good shot. Regards.

Should the boats be cropped? They are a bit distracting and not necessary. Maybe also a bit of the forground.

The whole thing is so incongruous that it works perfectly! Just a great photograph. I just wanna know if the dog can play the sax. :) This ranks up there with my favorite William Wegman photos.
