I like the effect in B&W and the grainy texture. I just wonder if it might be stronger still with the straws in the background removed. But I do like this type of image and hope you'll be doing some more...

Very interesting photo, great idea with the varying straw colors and lengths. Lighting look good although perhaps a little backlight from up above to add a rim effect to the straws would make them pop out a bit more. Lets see some more, I always enjoy looking at these types of images.
