Thanks Paul. I did it like this for two reasons. One I really only wanted a small amount in focus to see if I could really highlight a small section of the flower. The other reason is there was a breeze and without wanting to use the flash I was restricted in my settings without blurring the image due to movement. I quite often take a variety of images with different settings but this situation limited my choices. Fortunately I did actually get the main one that I was after. So instead of looking at flower completely in focus, I wanted to accentuate only a part of it, but still keep the rest in to compliment that area.
