thanks, Carsten. I loved this image as well - it was just so glorious to stand there & take it all in. I haven't been shooting raw, just the finest jpeg as i have only 1 512 mb card & i find it fills up too quickly when i shoot raw. I can convert the jpegs to TIFF files, however, & try what you have suggested. I hope to start looking for some stock agencies at some point to carry my work, so i'm going to have to be very careful about how i work on my photos so they don't lose too much quality. I really appreciate your help & feedback - thank you so much - jennifer

Stunning sky, that is the scenery I love ! Serge`s shadow/highlight tweak is good, it could happen that shadows look a bit stressed then (viewed large). If you rework on the shadows, I would make a composite of two TIFFs, one converted for the highlights and one for the shadows, if you shoot RAW

hi Serge - thanks for taking the time to re-work my photo. I do like the lightness that you've added to it & how the farm houses are now less in darkened silouette. I thought about doing that myself, but didn't take the time, so i'm happy to see that it works so well that way & was worth the effort! Thanks again - jennifer

Jenn, it's good to see you here again .. this photograph is amazing - when you take pictures like this it's not distant like - but like i'm there to feel the emotion of this moment - breath the air.. feel the cold and ever hear the snow under my feet .. i simply love seeing this image ..

great shot jen... your compositon is stellar. you might want to hit the sharpen after you reduce your size a bit. Stunning photo from the farm.

Lovely image Jennifer. We are suffering from severe 'Blue Sky' deprevation here in NZ. I'm almost looking forward to the Winter. I like that the tree on the left of the frame in in sunlight and the clouds are superbly rendered. Regards & Happy New Year John
