Hi Kurt, when it comes down to this type of detail shots, I also learned always to listen to my wife... She has an eye for these things...:) It looks a bit soft; probably because of the scan. It does reduce the effect of the various textures a bit, but there's still enough left to appreciate it. The print would've been much more defined. The only thing I would do to this shot is correct the perspective; the strip of concrete below is a bit distracting, and aligning it with the frame would make the photo more balanced, I think. Well done, compliment your wife on her photographic eye!
