About
A young Alice in Wonderland feeding the ducks.
I made the slightly trippy background by blending a blurred copy of the main photo using the Darken layer blend mode in PS (i think - was a few hours ago and I forget).
I put a mask on the blurred layer to keep the girl looking normal amongst the odd looking surroundings. the main duck has been spared the blurr too.
Photo taken this saturday in Golden Acre Park, candid with my 300mm lens from a bench some distance away as I ate my tea.
Another blurry image.... see if this does better than the last :-)
To me, photo shop is the icing on the cake really.
I use it on all my best shots just to try and emphasize the important bits, and hide those that are distracting.
I was just experimenting with this one, I often put a glow behind a photo - a bit like a diffusion filter would do - but in this case I decided to "blend" the layers in a strange way. I'd no idea what it would look like though.
It's a bit risky taking photos of children in the UK these days as several photographers have been arrested because of the new paronoia about paedophiles in this country. Needless to say they have all been released and found innocent. It's such a shame as a shot like this of a little girl feeding the ducks is as innocent as the little girl herself.
Just hope you get to carry on freely in Israel as you've captured so many superb candid shots - be a shame to have to give it up.
I am not that familiar with the intricaies of P.S so I can on,y comment on the result, Ade and that is wonderful and fits your caption. Thank you for your warm comment on my "Reflection in Tel Aviv 2". The red spots were glued to the glass panes so that no-one accidentally walks into one of them. Regards, Rafi
