I always like to see images taken with the jolly old 50 mm, it is a lens that makes one work honestly for a picture. Yes I have experienced London in winter, supposing that a dark dismal, humid and extremely cold day in Novemeber is categorized as as part of that season. Your image exudes all of those rather negative characteristics. This is a well composed capture. In Montreal we add pothols to the ambiance.

Hi Hugh, Outstanding shot. Very strong image indeed. The composition and toning, as well as the texture of the concrete building create a very depressing atmosphere. If I'd start nitpicking, I think the sign on the right is the only thing that doesn't really fit within the photo or within the atmosphere. Only a minor thing. Apart from that, the photo is just excellent
Cheers,
Hugo

In my opinion London in the winter is far more photogenic than in the summer. This is a perfect example. A fine image.

Us Londoners do love a good moan about the weather.
Yes, I will agree that it is cold and wet and miserable, but it isn't that much worse than many a northern hemisphere place. I shudder at the thought of Glasgow in the winter, for instance...
What intrigues me about London in the winter is that yoiu get to find a lot of tunnels to use and avoid the outdoors, though. I end up feeling like I'm a mole :-S
Good work with the lines and reflections here, Hugh!

Excelent image. There's a "soylent green" feel to it. As far as the weather in London...? I live in New England and we are brothers in misery.

Wonderful eye! I think the image would work better cropped just below the sign(I feel it leads the eye away rather than into the image), and without the man facing towards the camera-he sort of breaks the flow. The reflection truly does make this shot, and the tones are spectacular. Great shot!

Very nicely seen! Very nice composition as the reflections create a very creative line for the viewers eye to follow. Sadly I don't have any sunshine to trade for those puddles. San Francisco summers aren't the warmest.
