About The first ladybug I saw in my garden. When I put my finger in front of him, he stepped right on it and walked all over my hand, untill I carefully brought him to this fresh new leaf, to set him free again... But not before I took my camera with my other hand, so I could take his picture, whyle he walked away. Did you ever play this game with a ladybug yourself? Enoy and leave me your comments.

Lovely capture! Yes, there is something special with ladybugs, I don't know why... I mean, we don't like other bugs much, not even if they are red! But ladybugs are always cute! Perhaps it's from childhood? That we were "told" all the times that they are cute!

It's a wonderful photo, and combination of colours are great too! But I would rather see it's face than butt! ;-))

A great nature macro image.Rating:7
Had the same experience yesterday in the fields. Have you ever tried to use a polarizing filter....? Give it a try! Would have worked very well in this case (reflection on wing and light colored leaf on right side) This is only a suggestion NOT a criticism on the picture.
Kind regards,
Gustav

Wow, it looks as if it will come right out of the screen. The soft greens are a beautiful contrast and your presentation is first class. Don.

EXCELLENT capture Diana,

Beautiful detail, and I liked reading your story about how he came to be on that nice leaf in just the perfect setting to have his portrait taken!

Pleasing effect, that bright red patch in a green setting. The shiny surface ia hard to manage in terms of exposure, but you have delt properly with it. DOF is also very effective.

Diana.
Groet teunis

Hi Diana, very, very nice. Something peaceful and happy about this image. I love the selective DOF and the light (dark on one side, bright on the other). Nice and sharp. All in all i guess i'm trying to say i like it very much. +7 from me. Cheers Neil

Exquisite, Diana! Beautifully captured.
Yes, I've played the same game
Kind regards, Chris
P.S. We call them 'ladybirds' ~ it sounds a bit nice than 'ladybugs'!!

A really wonderful macro, Diana. It is so sharp and clear that I recognized the ladybug from the thumbnail photo. I think I need several hundred of these ladies to put on my rose bushes. Some little creatures are eating away the leaves of my bushes.
Best wishes, Jimmy

Very good macro, great colors and good DOF. Your story reminds me of my childhood. I used to play with them the same way.
