About Just some very little flowers. I almost didn't noticed them passing by. But they seemed to "glow" in the dark. I felt tenderness looking at them and tried to capture this with my camera. Enjoy and please leave me your comments.

You captured them very well. I as well like the light. I like the fact that you did not completly isolate the flower in the foreground. It gives it just enough depth.

Thank you dear Diana. I thought that it is not interesting for others. just for me. it is the beauty I see. It is a violet gel for candies, just melting under my lamp, in front of me. I just shoot it as I saw those forms. those bubbles. Nothing special. but for me it has its value. At least I love its violet-purple colors and the form I saw. And I really can se for myself an Aries, Ram, Belier. and that is.
Thank you so much for you nice comment, Hope you do understand me. I am just a little bit lost, and trying to find my way up up to the sky.
Kisses and Love,
Biliana

Loverly colours and good use of DOF Diana. I prefer your second choice composition. In this one the cut off-bud on the right gives an unbalanced composition. Thanks for your comments on my pic of the day. Regards John

A very fine work. DOF is excellent, with the minute details of the flower really standing out as they should. It makes us appreciate the quality of the lens. The dominant hues convey the feeling that caught your attention. In that sense, you have made a good choice for the frame.
As for the crop, it seems there are more than one possible. The larger one I like too, mainly because of the "Y" shape of the stems that bring in structure, but it is also true that this would divert from the loose soft texture of the flower.

Lovely colours Diana and they do look tender, I am not so sure about the busy background, I like the composition but my eye is wondering all around the image, perhaps some blur with PS might help, the main flower is very detail and exposure is perfect, well done - Richard.

I understand the tenderness! I know this little flower and it has such delicate thin leaves. I also undertand why the composition is how it is. These flowers grow in bigger groups, like daisies, or forget-me-not's. They belong together in a group, that is really the beauty of them. So glad you didn't capture this flower alone. It sure has interseting shapes, so it could be a single model, but the effect would have gone then. So very well composed and great capture of the delicacy!

Hi Diana! What a wonderful picture of these beautiful flowers!!! Dof, colours, lighting, details... all is excellent, and it has such a very lovely expression! The cropping you chose is just right; the other version distracts too much from the flower in the foreground imo. Wonderful picture and well deserved being featured on main page today! I was waiting for that all the time :) Congrats!!! Kind regards, and have a nice time *** Gabriele

Patricia Eifel   {K:5097} 9/28/2003
A nice macro that conveys that feeling of joy in a simple pleasure discovered. I think I like the original crop best; by including the entirity of perepheral elements, the second tends to draw attention away from the central, focused flower.

Diana,

I think the best macro images arise out of this "I felt tenderness looking at them and tried to capture this with my camera."

Good work.

diana, a wonderful macro, indeed. congratulations. regarding the cropping i am with your choice because it calls the attention to the off centre blossomswhich is meant to be the subject matter, is it not? in the end it is a matter of taste nevertheless. well deserved featured picture of the day.

This is a very "artistic" shot Patricia-- depth of field, composition, and lighting are perfect for the subject. Well done. Cheers. Craig

Andrew Lopez-Calvete   {K:2441} 9/27/2003
Excellent stuff, I've only just got to grips with macro and always struggle with depth of focus. You have it just right here. I'm undecided about the composition....should it be off centre, should it have less blooms in the background? I'm really not sure, so I guess its a question of taste rather than being right or wrong. I'm drawn to the semi open bloom on the upper right with the green veins on the petals. I like it in the frame because it suggests the growth cycle of the plant, but I'd also love to see this in its own seperate shot.

I've recently posted the only decent macro shot I've turned out thus far, I'd really appreciate any expert hints and advice!!
