About
The Nortown Lanes in Regina, the city where I grew up. I get back there fairly recently, but rarely do I get a chance to drive around and poke my nose into odd corners. I was shocked to discover that the Nortown (where I often bowled in days gone by) is not only closed, but apparently has been so for years! This is a hand-made HDR image, made by layering two shots one atop the other to get the sky and dark areas under the marquee of the building.
They say you can never go home again. Just this past year, I've been frequenting the area that I grew up in as a kid too. It's funny how some little things have remained exactly the same as they were when I walked to school in the 60's and other parts of the area are unrecognizable. There is heavy nostalgic feeling associated with images like this one. Similar to the Dairy Queen image you posted earlier. I mentioned American Graffiti last time. This time I will say it reminds me of "The Last Picture Show" Andre
