About This the corner of the town bell tower in Nevada City, Mt. I converted to b/w from color. This is a sample of a coped corner typical of many old log structures in Mt. This process is still used today in many new log homes.

No kidding Stan,
My brother and I were eaten alive by Black Flies this spring, clearing some old, half water logged trees and logs away from our dock.

Thanks Andre, it is amazing what the high water will share with you. I believe this joint is known as the Swedish cope. Be well, Stan

Hi Stan,
Our cottage in central Ontario is on a river that used to have a thriving lumber industry. Sometimes in the spring after the thaw we still find logs washed ashore that have those end cuts like in this image.

Martin, Thanks for the Kudus. A lens is a terrible thing to waste, glad I freed it from it's prison and got it back on a camera. Now I need to dedicate my time to bonding with it. So far so good. Be well my friend, Stan

Well done my friend,

Stan, it is a simple perspective, but your interesting way of perceptiveness to the final presentation it’s a well done execution!!!

Dave, I cropped it pretty tight to focus on the corner and joints. This is the color original of the shot. I liked the color one too because it was really rich in the weathered look. Be well, Stan

Here's a Manitoba example, Stan, not quite as tight construction, but the same idea!

This building has certainly stood the test of time, Stan, and a good capture of it! You've got great detail and texture there, as well as good b/w tones.
Dave.
