As usual, serious critiques welcome.

In my previous post, I meant to say "no critique" from me. Just an observation and a general comment :)

hi AJ, critique from me, but the wave you've shown us here brings back some memories of the massive tsunami a few years ago in asia. in one of my photos titled "813" you can find a link that has digital photos chronicling the tsunami as it arrives from far out at sea. if you're interested, then take a look.

Warmest regards ~ James

Many thanks for your comment. Actually, there were a few surfers out, but I didn't want them to spoil the lines you describe! (Plus, they would have given scale to the wave, something I was explicitly trying to leave ambiguous.)

thanks a lot AJ for your information...yea, always cannot get colors using tele lens...
I try something using the PhotoFilter, a program that is free (open resorce) that somehow makes very nice saturations without lost of quality!!!

wonderful capture, a diagonal green curve in between two lines... beautiful curl and the color is very pleasant to the eye. The sea spray and the texture of the water are very well seen.. magnificent abstract in nature..
well composed and presented..
regards..
now we need a surfer on that pipeline..:)

Thanks John - fair point about the colour, though it was a rather grey day and I have already pushed the colour/contrast as far as I think it will go without losing detail.

fantastic, excellent details and most of all, a great framing on the wave shape AJ, wow...really great to see these waves, at the same time I hope of a tiny wave of a meter at my place hahaha.... excellent.
It could be a bit more contrast perchaps and deepness to get more stronger color here, that green is really beautiful and worths to see it more strongly...
excellent...
be well AJ!

Thanks Tony - yes, both you and Nicole have pretty much summed up what I was trying to capture here. Gentle or powerful? As there’s no reference point, it’s impossible to tell how big this wave is. But at over 3 metres I'd stick with "powerful"…

Thanks Nicole - you’ve pretty much summed up what I was trying to capture here. Soft or powerful? Because there’s no reference point, it’s impossible to tell how big this wave is. (It was in fact over 3 metres…)
