Super shot Dave, did it ever come out clear and sharp with beautiful colours, sure looks scenic and historic. I'll bet the inside is pretty nice too. You took the shot from a great angle and percpective, the canal leads the eye up to the basilica and has a great reflection in it too. Really nice. I hear Italy is pretty expensive to visit.

A very well done photo, Dave! Only a bit of turning to the right for getting more of the bulding and the street at the right and leave the tree off image - and this suggestion of course only while I don't know if the rest of things visible on the right would fit in the composition.
I am amazed by the total DoF and the finest differentiations of lighting that you accomplished here. The statues and the church retined their details but with completely different lightings, that helps very much visualizing the fact that the statues are much nearer.
The reflections of the scene on the water and the very well balanced blue of the sky do complement the overall composition in a very nice way too. Almost a live impression of that location.
