Thanks, Ellen. I've had a couple of years getting used to PaintShop Pro (the poor man's PS) which I used on scans of my negatives. Sort of half-way house to the digital darkroom. I'll be in touch!

Yes a bit of hocus pocus in PS is always a good thing. You won't need much but some now and then. The information is all in the shot it's just that in the "developing" of the shot you have to adjust the levels with the computer not the length of time in the developer. Good luck and if you feel chatty or have a question drop me a line.

Well. Ellen, I did consider a D70 very seriously but I couldn't accept the small, dark and rather pokey viewfinder. RF viewfinders and even a standard manual SLR viewfinder are SO superior there is really no comparison. The D200 has a very good viewfinder, noticeably inferior to my film SLR, but quite useable. That decided me... Now I am having to get used to the very limited contrast range. Argh!

Oh lord that's a big book! I won't even read mine in English and it's only about 100. I like mashing the buttons and getting stuck then finding the answer. I get smart the hard way. hehehe All the exquisite shots I've see including this one done with Canons I may just have to get one. Want to trade for a D70? lol

Thanks, Ellen. I am not having much fun with my new toy--NOT the fault of the toy! It's Japan's rainy season. Hot, humid, cloudy if not rainy, with everything going moldy. Not a good time for photographs, though the greenery is going WILD. This camera is an, ahem, "investment." I hope to make some money taking interactive panoramas for hotels and tourist spots here in Japan... But of course that doesn't prevent me having FUN with it too... The rain is at least giving me enough time to read the manual (just 330 pages of Japanese).

Beautiful colours and good detail in this next floral adventure my friend. Everything in nature depends so much on a balance and the contribution of other elements, the bees with flowers is a great example. I wonder how competetive flowers are in getting their share of pollination and sunshine?? Well done Roger......Cheers....Ray
