About Walking alonside the river at Oshinomura, we came across this rather elaborate flowerpot and stand. It made a rather strange impression on me, as if the person who put it there was saying "Yes, I know nature is beautiful left to itself but this is MY contribution..."

Thanks Craig. Although actually this isn't a panorama shot, just a common-or-garden wide angle. [grin] I wondered whether to put this one up because I just couldn't get the background right. Very limited space from which to take the shot... But apparently it was worthwhile, if just for the oddity of it!

Hi Roger; I really enjoy your panorama photos, and this one is no exception. A nice subject well exposed. I do think I would like to see the flower pot less centered though, e.g. I'd like to see it in the space to the left so the eye can "track" w/ the stream-- also an important element. Perhaps a personal bias on my part, ie why do people consider the water in a photo to be so important?

Thanks for comments on my Sunball pic. Of course the 14-54 was an error (thanks)-- it should have been 50-200 Zuiko (100-400, 35mm equivalent). I DO want to pick up the 1.4X TC though for an effective 560mm lens. Cheers. Craig

Great colour and detail as always, Roger.
I can see what John means re. the composition ~ the flowerpot obscuring part of the stream is not ideal but, then I know how difficult it sometimes is to get the perfect composition!!
Best regards, Chris

Strange, crazy, eyecatching and a great shot.

Have to agree, John. I really tried to find a better angle, but I think the lack of harmony between the pot and the stream is somehow in the nature of the things themselves. So maybe, to that extent, I've captured something of the impression you get when you actually look at them? That would be cool...

Roger - This is interesting but somehow the stream in the background and the pot just dont work together here for me. Perhaps a different perspective might have let them complement each other better.
