Hi Jowie,

the exposure is very good. A possible improvement: 'something'in the foreground could make the image more interesting. Also the stones under water could act as a kind of foreground. A polarizing filter could help to reduce the reflection and in this way make the stones more visible.

regards,
Hermen

I think it fits the subject, I don't know how you did it, I am not familiar with such effects, but you did well to add this dreamy effect!7.

A simple title, great coloring and unlimited details on a very simple scene. A scene that seems to belong in the past, or to be here and now *after* some story, some happenings, some evolution. Such older fashioned images, when taken so brilliantly from the technical point of view, include a kind of action that takes place without spectacularity. It is exactly that story, whatever story might have happened until the gate is what it is now.

Dear Jowie!

I saw your comment on this photo in ''about'' rubric, so I decided to give a try at this photo and lighten it up a bit. So I opened my photoshop CS3 and made some changes with shadows/highlights tool, I slightly moved the levels sliders, added some contrast, made some selective coloring and sharpened it with a Neat Image. It really isn't nothing complicated to do, and I hope you'll like the result:

Hey, Jowie, I know this area extremely well. I live near here. Before I was married, my parents owned a farm, here, with 1km of river frontage. We used to drive down the fire trail, which ran through our property, to go down to the river for BBQ's, campovers and swimming. This brings back some very happy memories.

We lost everything in the 79 bushfires...fencing and some stock etc.

Do you live close to this spot?

Cheers

Phil
