John Bohner has a good point: Why don't we ever see them hanging out at Mister Donuts?

Anyway, I like all your stitched panoramas. They really capture the feel of life in Tokyo.

Wow, that still didn't make much sense. No wonder I no longer teach English.

I guess my picture doesn't exactly fit my desciption of a tunnel, does it?
Anyway, these are the left-side poles of the torii and the tops of them are casting the horizontal shadows.

Thank you Yoshiyuki. I really should study kanji more.

You're very kind, Gabriela. However, it may not be so impressive to know that this shot was mostly as result of chance. I don't think I even noticed the reflections when I took this. I took around 10 or 15 shots of this pond with hundreds of these bugs running around. I later saw this and then cropped it so just these two were showing.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to comment.

Thank you kindly for your comments, Mr. Tanaka. It seems so long ago that I was in India but it was just a few months ago.
By the way, I just looked at your portfolio and enjoyed it very much.

Something really moody and mysterious about this. I can't quite describe it, but I like it.

Thanks everyone for so many encouraging comments! I just thought my portfolio needed some more yellow in it.

You have a great eye for composition. I just took a tour of your portfolio and enjoyed it very much.

Thanks, all. I agree, Rashed. Most people like mobile phones because it makes them feel important.

Mr. Serizawa,

This black background makes the color all the more stunning. This picture really caught my eye because it's similar to a painting I did a few years ago.

Anyway, I like your work.

No problem, Roger. I'm always eager to get constructive critique, so don't hesitate.
I never noticed it before but the whole picture is a little tilted to the left.

Thanks.

Hi again, Roger.
Sure, drop me a line at jimsjazzz@yahoo.co.jp if you come down to the Yokohama area for some photo hunting.

Great colors. I love these kinds of old buildings. I don't see any spider webs but I like the green moss on the street.

Thank you, Ann. The telephoto lens kind of creates that illusion of shoulder to shoulder people, but it wasn't quite as crowded as it appears here.

Still scary, though, when I look at it.

Good portrait, but I'd like to see it with the color intact.

I understand that Kyoto has places where tourist girls can rent kimonos and get made up like a maiko for the day. If the maiko you see on the street seems to love all the attention, it's safe to guess they're probably tourists.

I agree with you Roger. I also married a Japanese girl and I think Abhra's comment was dumb and rude.

Incidentally there is a brand of coffee here in Japan also called "GOD". I've seen it in vending machines.

Thanks, guys.
You're right, Joggie. That dead space at the left bothers me. I didn't think I could crop it without making the picture too narrow. But I just realized maybe I could try some stretching tricks. Here's what I did:
