About This was taken as a test of my mobile phone. I've been (reluctantly) impressed with the image quality this primitive digital camera gives, and thought I'd give it a REAL test. Not bad, huh? (the photograph is nothing special, but look at the definition!)

How nice to see a comment from you again, Rob. I hope it means I will find some new photos of yours when I visit your portfolio! If you battled with this mobile phone taking photos you would know why more people don't use them... it takes a couple of seconds to take the photo after you press the button, it takes 10 to 15 seconds to show it on the screen, and the same again to save it to memory, and similarly for each photo you want to check, you can only take two or three on the internal memory, and I can manage about 15 max. res. images on my plug-in memory. NOTHING is adjustable, and there is terrible noise in under-exposed areas. But image quality CAN BE quite good, as above, so I keep using it...

I was glad to get your comment, but sad to see that all your photos have gone. How can I return your kindness if you have no photos on which I can comment?

Yes it is amazingly good. Indeed makes you wonder, why to bother with film or an expensive DSLR.

Iam very sory my friend Roger , I just like to add a point to this wonderful image ,I gree with the level of noise here been high and thats should not be taken under concederations as this is an image of a mobile phone camera ,I did fine this image real sharp all the way through the infinity .The left corner has is not its not been lit correctly ,no. it is just the time of the day which caused the shade to cover that zone and this is at that time is unavoidable and that why there are times of teh day count for proper lit images, its a test capture and Iam sure its so great ,Not the camera made this wonderful image but the handle of the camera .All of the best my friend and sorry again to add another comment to this lovely image which i di denjoy alot viewing and learning from.

It really is remarkable what is packed into those very small devices now. Definately not bad at all for a phone.

Modern technology is kinda scary Roger and I agree that from a multi purpose piece of miniature electronics the image is quite amazing. Where on Earth will it end? Thanks for sharing. Best wishes...Ray

...I've more noise in my new digital camera than in your Sharp (really sharp!) phone.
Probably there's only a loss of quality due to jpg compression but also the colours are fine too (I remember also your dog poto that was very very good)

In spite of the noise and a little disrupted colour on the sky, I like it! It's a very journalistic shot! I bet if you turn it B&W it will look like a shot in one of the Japanese newspapers.I like it much more than those of shops and flea markets. Thanks for coming by and commenting some of my shots, I like it!

Yes, Hugo, my feeling exactly. It really falls down in low-light situations. The digital noise gets quite ugly. But I am becoming very fond of it because it enables me to capture those rare shots which seem to occur when I have no "proper" camera with me. And it's just FINE for my series of underground candid shots, where a proper camera would be counter productive.

Hi Roger, I agree, the definition is pretty good, eventhough I wouldn't think of using such a camera for real photography. It still shows the marks of a rather feeble dynamic range and it seems to struggle a bit in the lower left corner, but nonetheless it's pretty impressive.

Cheers,

Hugo

Wow Roger, this was a cell phone photo? Pretty amazing I think. This is a nice example of how technology is moving right along.
