Great photo. The simplicity and colours are fantastic. I also like the way you cropped this photo. Great job. Real sence of lonliness but calmness too.

The splash of bright colour in the dreary greys of winter makes this a fantastic photo. Thanks for sharing it.

Here is the poem Amy. I did this photo and poem for a lady that has MS (her thorn). I used Kirsty because she has kidney problems (her thorn).

The Thorn

I stood a mendicant of God.
Before His royal throne,
And begged Him for a priceless gift,
For me to call my own.

I took the gift from out His hand,
But as I would depart,
I cried, "But Lord this is a thorn,
And it has pierced my heart!"

"This is a strange and hurtful gift
Which Thou hast given me."
He said, "I love to give good gifts,
I gave my best to thee."

I took it home, and though at first
The cruel thron hurt me sore,
As long years passed I grew at last
To love it more and more.

I learned that He never gives a thorn
Without His added grace:
He takes the thorn to pin aside,
The veil which hides His face.

Very cool shot I like you DOF with the owl and tree in focus. The lighting is good with no deep shaddows (one of the good things of those cloudy days). I like the position of the owl too. Very good that he didn't move on you shooting at 1/40.
This is a great photo.

Thanks Fadel. I looked at your work too and really love your lighting and mood. I have always loved dramatic skies the light is always so interesting.

Like this shot Dan. It might have been slightly better with a shorter depth of field.

It was cold but all the snow has gone now. It stays around just enough to enjoy it then it goes.
Thanks for you comments on the photos.

I love this shot James. I like the focal point being the rippels in the water and the rock even leads your eye in that direction.
