For me the highlights in the eyes are what make this such an appealing image.The child's right eye is rimmed beautifully with lashes. The simple background ensures the focus doesn't stray from the subject. Beautiful work. Cathy

CUTE! Gotta love the little cheerleader types- my once "little cheerleader" grew up into a real one and then I spent many many nights on the bleachers watching her cheer football games. She also competed as a competetive cheerleader- lots of work there! Nice fun capture!

I agree with the first comment- the saturated colors give it a timeless feel- as does the old sidewalk and just the POV. Really great image- tells a whole story in it's simplicity. You will look back on this one day and tear up!

This is a great shot! Funny and cute all at the same time. You certainly have a way of capturing people's moods, something I find rather challenging for myself to accomplish. I'm sure your kids really appreciate it too.LOL Someday you'll be showing this one to your grandchildren. Imagine that!

Dale, I have tons of photos I’ve taken that are just like Boomer, and they too give me a special feeling, but I don’t consider a photo to be creative or ‘artsy’ if that was not the intention of the photographer. So I apologize if I was too abrasive.
I’ve reviewed your portfolio and your people pictures are great! I am especially fond of this one. It is natural, unrehearsed, and seems to tell a story.
