Very interesting shot bordering on the abstract. What an orderly bunch! Are you sure they are not from Singapore?:-) I agree with Marianne that the tree hardly seems capable of supporting such a large group. Also, I love the diagonal arrangement.

What and excellent capture! I haven't seen anything quite like this! The tree doesn't even look like it would support all the weight of the birds! Very interesting shot!

Thai River Houses comments. Many thanks for the comments. This is a place I discovered by chance when a truck forced me to stop as it charged down the rd a couple of weeks ago. It is about 1 km from where I live in Nakula which is just outside Pattaya about 130 kms SE of Bangkok. This is an area more famed for its nightlife than its natural beauty, as it only came into being in the 60?s due to the influx of Americn GI?s on rock and roll from Vietnam These houses are newly built and are hidden from the rd behind a ugly concrete wall, which is directly opposite the water treatment plant for the area. I think these are the Thai equivalent of a ?beach hut? more for weekend stays, as the rich thai?s often come down for the weekend to escape Bangkok As Richard Avedon said ?all photographs are accurate but none are the truth.? My first idea was they would make a good subject in black and white but a return early one morning led to the posted result. Regards Les

I like the architecture and love the light. Is this early morning or late afternoon? Either way this type of light is glorious and so well suited to show off the natural wood and plant textures.

Looks like nothing can stop it Love this picture a lot. Some "unused" space at right is not a problem bacause the center of children's attention is in the right place of the image.

Wonderful progression of grays. I just wish that it had a little less exposure so that the background whites did not burn through so strongly.
