Hi Bob, I realized that my comment on your last shot probably sounded snotty and wasn't intended to be. What I meant by pushing yourself was a suggestion to try to make a photo be something more than a visual depiction of something you see. Some visual resonance, or allegory, some repetitious pattern, some interplay between colors, something that evokes a thinking response rather than a "that's pretty" comment. There's precious little of that on any critique site, and certainly none in the collective works of the ex-psig folks who I see commenting on your pics, but that's another topic. I remember looking at your stuff on psig and thinking that you had a decent eye for composition, and used film, both positives. It's hard to do, but I always try to remind myself (often unsuccessfully) to avoid taking a cliche picture.
