lovely work Bob! great mix of patterns, tones, shapes. what is really unique is how there is really no dominant part of the frame, it all works together for a great abstract. very nicely done....congrats on BIP and SC! cheers,

hi Erik! haven't seen you posting in awhile...good to see your name again. this one is a definite 'Nelder.' love these types of shots you do, and especially with the Metro sign in the reflection. great work........

...glad you like the pixellated me too. there's a Chuck Close exhibit about 3 blocks from where i live which closes this weekend. i've gone through 3 times and am just amazed by his style and vision. this is my weak photoshopped attempt at a Close style self.

thanks C...always great to hear your thoughts. i love this new camera, and agree with you about the quality factor.

what show was Vonnegut on? i caught him on Jon Stewart recently...that guy is genius. i haven't picked up the new one yet (haven't picked anything up since the new camera, no money!!) but i did thumb through it at the store.

desolate for sure. i hope you don't mind, but i've played a little with this photo in PS. i am just beginning to learn to use PS for more than simple cropping, cloning, contrast/brightness.
i made 3 layers for the sky, the building which is illuminated by the sunset, and finally the darkened foreground. i adjusted the levels on each individually. it's a quick 3 minute version, and is sloppy in places, but brings out some more details of this beautiful scene you captured. best wishes,

probably very good! i like the tones here a lot, and the mood. it feels very 'swedish' to me. the only thing i don't like so much is all the noise. really nice photo.....

i've noticed some vignetting with the same lens when i'm at 18mm and using a filter, or if the lens hood isn't on straight. using the PT lens plugin you could probably remove the vignetting digitally.

great pic by the way. i love gallery shots. this one is perfect...minimal colors, good compo. i like this man's obvious interest in the work as well. nicely done.......

gorgeous work Baha...i've not seen such a lovely collection of rocks before. lots of colors and textures to keep the eyes busy for a long time. it's difficult to get a proper exposure with such range in tones here...one thing to try would be to move the very bright rocks out of the frame, so their wouldn't be any blown out areas. really great work as is though too! best wishes Baha....

hola TR,
yes, i really love this camera...for all the reasons you stated. i only wish i had made the jump earlier. as for the noise on this one, i used Neat Image which is a free NR program. i don't know if it's the best out there or not, but it works well enough for me. i'm looking forward to those star trails!
