Thanks Aram for your in-depth comment. If I reduce the color it would become dull, I'd lose the feeling of sunshine. For me the lighting is the most important element for the stroll mood. As for the sharpness, I'm not sure, that would again downplay the forest. The woman and the forest are two equal elements, which is - I think - giving some tension. Best regards, Ina

Like Chinese foot binding ....... but higher up. She spins circumambulatorly down the path because she can't walk a straight line in that dress. I actually like this model, but I imagine she's special order now.

Thank you so much Tracey! I don't want to produce ghostly images - I'm trying to find the right vintage photo to go with the right image I own. I have a lot of stereoscope postcards, I haven't scanned them yet, but wonder about the copyrights. Maybe you know better how safe it is to borrow a vintage photo. I own a whole bunch of family pictures from the 20's and 30's, but sometimes I want to use others, that I don't own. Thanks for your nice comments, I've been away a few days, just trying to catch up now! Regards, Ina

a woman after my own heart... I have a older series back when I was in college that I started that was something to this degree! I too have a love for vintage photos (I have since started a new series... not yet posted but... I have a million (literally) negs to work from! glad to see a kindred spirit! yes, I don't believe you would want to go too much lower on the opacity it would probally overwelm the image of the woman! very nice Ina!

What a lovely effect you created here dear Ina, I love the 'lady of the forest' sorry that's what comes to mind..it's lovely! She seems to be a part of this time, but also of another time, She has some unfinished business so she is unable to leave, the Fall colors are gorgeous and the composition is excellent, very good PS skills, wonderfully creative and wonderfully done, hugs to you my dear...Linda

Very nice composition, Dear Ina. I would call this picture "The Autumn Soul of the Nature": she represents so well the autumn; Fragile and frail; Transparent, pale; Ethereal...
I'm not a PS "connaisseur" but perhaps the whole ambiance would have been more consistent if you could reduce the sharpness of the background picture. Especially the mass of yellow shiny leaves catch the attention and distract the eye from the lovely Autumn Soul of the Park! Just a suggestion...
Congratulation for the new series of experiences. Delighted.

Hi Ina! A wonderful mix of old and new! She looks more like dancing in the woods than strolling around :) I think you have got just the right amount of transparency here. The leaves you added on her dress/hair is a nice finishing touch! Creative and beautiful stuff!

Hi Mark, thanks for the nice comment! I have tried to match a vintage picture that had the same lighting and coloring as the one in my park picture, so the shadows/ toning look natural. Then I scaled the figure so it looks the right proportion (not too tall, and not too short); faded the skirt to fit the ground and added some leaves at the bottom, as if she's walking. I think that's about it. Oh, and added a leaf in her hair... It's only a matter of finding a match so it doesn't look cut & paste :) I'm very fond of pre-Raphaelite paintings and this sort of seemed along those lines. Best regards, Ina

Now this is VERY interesting. At first glance at the thumbnail I though she was statuary! Once I saw what you had done my thought was that she fit fantastically well into this shot. The flared and rotated dress hem gives the appearance that she is dancing in the woods. The fantasy aspect of this is quite beguiling. Is she a ghost? A time traveler? Both? And the very coloful and sunlit path seems to accent the apparition aspect of this. The toning of the black and white image is perfect in how it somehow blends with the shades of this shot. Somehow and you have made her seem to fit into the background image where I'd have thought that would be impossible given the starkly different qualities of the two images. Very fanciful Ina. You're VERY clever Ina!!

Thanks Rina, I could have made her more transparent, but I thought she kind of belonged there, so I made her less ghostly and added those leaves, as if she'd be walking (not floating).

Oh Ina... both this and "The Gaze" are utterly beautiful. The layering here is so completely flawless. You've shown great care and skill with ensuring the ghostly image appears as though she is actually there. The way the leaves are resting on the bottom of her gown, which seems to be following the curve of the ground... nice work.

Hi Ann, I did this with layers in photoshop, overlapping the two images, and adding some more layers for the small leaves. I'm just starting to get the hang of it. Thanks, I'm glad you like it! It's not really a series, unless I find compatible images, and I don't know if this would happen again soon :)

Ahhh...the woman from the "other" dimension. I don't know how you did this but it's beautifully done Ina. it has a very romatic feel about it. The colours are beautiful and the lady looks as if she's inviting us to walk down the path with her. Wonderful series evolving here Ina. Cheers - Ann :)
