Thanks for your visits, dear Kathy! Isee you have further developed your barn window series. It is a very good cut with evocative colors and texture. Interesting, from the thumbnail I thought it was strongly postprocessed (solarization, or so) but by looking at the full size I realized it is real as it is. Grat: György

What a beautiful old barn this is! I see a lot of history here! Fantastic composition and the texture is outstanding.
I'd personally keep the frame a more simple color, too, but not saying your color is bad. If not black or white, I usually pull a color out of the photo for the frame. I'm probably just not bold enough to do what you have! Certainly worth experimenting!

This is great Kathy! What is it about windows??? They are all like framed artwork don't You think? Especially the old weathered ones like this! This is really a good shot!!! When I see an old window it makes Me think about all the eyes that have looked at and through it over the years! Nice series!!! My best.................John

nice barn window series!! I thik i like #2 the best. I do have to agree with Tim on the border. I think it takes away somewhat from the impact of the picture itself. Well done. Cheers, Gary

Hi Tim, Thanks for your honest comment on my,shot! I really appreciate it! I could go either way on the frame. I don't mind it the way it is, but black would probably look fine too. I ALWAYS appreciate honest critique! I don't actually live in Wisconsin, but in Washington state. I was there for a week vacation, and the weather cooperated beautifully. I got LOTS of pictures! Thanks again, and I plan to check out your portfolio soon. Kathy

Hi Kathy, love your barn series, and it seems to go in a crescendo, every day each one is more beautiful! More color, too! Love the window, the roof corner, and the peeling paint. What a gorgeous image! Why is it the last one? I thought you had more! Or maybe it's a surprise - I shouldn't ask. Anyway, I love the entire series, but mostly the color ones. Bestregards, Ina

I love it Sissy! I don't think I agree on the frame comment... maybe it looks more green on his monitor...on mine it looks more taupey. I really like that you left the roof line in too. Adds that little touch of interest and makes you wonder what's over there?? Good series!

From one Wisconsinite to another (Fox Valley, too!)... I really like the window and your compositional choice to include the roofline upper right. I do have a difficult time with your choice of color for the frame, though. Just my opinion, but I think that white or dark/black would really show off the wall. The green makes the whole seem rather dirty to these cheese-encumbered eyes... If it were mine I might also pull (desaturate) the yellow just bit, thus increasing the contrast.
