This was my first try using the Provia B&W film - snow probably wasn't the best subject for this film :) The prints didn't look so great so I tried scanning in the negatives and tinting this one in photoshop which helps to bring back what I originally saw. I had fun cropping this one to get the effect I wanted.
Anne, this is a nice subject. My preference would be to eliminate the band of snow across the bottom, and concentrate on a few of the snow crystals and the leaves. The shot is all about the contrast between them, and you need a really high level of detail and subtlety in the print. To really do this I would go all out, tripod, cable release, as nice a lens as you can get your hands on, use a slow b&w film, maybe bracket, do some push/pull development, and then give all of the film to a good fiber printer and ask for a portfolio print. Nice shot. Makes me wish for a little snow.
