Thankyou, all, for your kind words. This is one of the mountains that make up the Lake O'hara valley, north of Banff. In my opinion, that valley is the most photogenic area in all of the Canadian Rockies. You don't need to be a climber. However most people tent there, or stay in one of the Alpine Club huts. If you ever think of visiting the Canadian Rockies, and if you want to avoid the masses of tourists, think of Lake O'hara, and plan ahead (only a small number of individuals are allowed there at one time, and you have to prebook with Parks Canada). This shot has special meaning to our climbing party, as we had just finished a fairly exposed climb up about 1000' of verglass-coated rock. I remember being intensely frightened, moreso than I have ever been since. We had a feeling of exhilaration that no one fell, but a feeling of aprehension that we would have to rappel/downclimb the same route. The intense mix of fear, accomplishment, hot/cold, and misty cloud was unforgettable.
