Your "crappy" Pentax served you well. The shot is very professional. It has the mood from the countryside. Very well done.

YES!! That's exactly what I meant... cut away the dark foreground and leave as much as you can of the dramatic clouds, while using the narrower panorama format to concentrate on the line of hills and those wonderful rays of light. Hope you think it was worthwhile!!

Thanks roger. Excellent comment. I spared the crop on this, as I liked the upper dark clouds, here I felt they created the necesary 'Northumbrian' mood.
I know you love panoramas from your fisheye images. So I cut this 'specially for you, Roger. Not sure if this was what you had in mind.
Regards
Colin

Not crappy at all! Beautiful, dramatic lighting and awe-inspiring sky. You may know I'm really a panorama lover--just can't show them to good advantage on Usefilm with the pixel limits as they are. You might like to play around with a panorama crop, which I think suits this image...

Thanks Marky. I just saw this old photo, while looking though one of my folders. I didn't rate it after I took it, last October, but thought it might do and gave it a chance. Cheers marra.

good one colin. It's the person operating the crappy old thing.-and as long as he is not a crappy old thing then you will get a good pic. You obviously have a seeing eyeand coupled with great technique gives you the edge.
