About Colore Dianese Dell'Acqua

Water colour of Diano Marina.

In these bone grindingly cold, windy days, it's nice to remember past warm holidays...sigh!

Taken in July 2004, of the beautiful Mediterranean, Italian Riveria town of Diano Marina.

Taken from my hotel room window!!

I'm proud of this, as I took it with a simple, Minolta compact film camera!

Cropped, brushed, colour enhanced, watercoloured and sharpened in photoshop.

This one is on the recruitment board of my local college, for photoshop courses.

Excellent decisions on cropping the original, have greatly improved the composition. The Photoshop work has resulted in a very painterly look, that is quite effective.

I knew it! My dark twin has the painterly soul of an artist!

Colin, my sweet friend...this is beautiful. I sincerely hope to see more of your Photoshop artistry!

Thanks for making the effort to comment, Steve. I think you may have a point, about the canvas texture being too much. Perhaps just a hint less, may have been the correct balance.

But I wanted to create the painted effect, as I spent a lot of time designing the watercolour work.

The original is below (for anyone interested). This was taken with a cheap, little compact, film camera.

I can see why this might attract people to a PhotoShop course. You are right to be proud of this! Thanks for your encouraging comment on my autumnal foliage photo. Do visit it again and see what Cessy Karina did with it. THAT was what I wanted to do... spot on! Obviously my PS skills are inadequate.

Very nicely done effects, Colin, and the original scene is a very good composition which, of course, is essential to produce a good image, PS'd or otherwise! Proves once again, that it's the eye behind the camera that counts!
Dave.

Basically a very nice photo. The composition and palette are good. I do think that the strength of the canvas texture works against the picture a bit. You might consider reducing its impact.
