About This is one of the first Ferraris ever made. A 1949 166mm.
Taken on Sept. 3/05 at the Lime Rock Park Vintage Race. This car is extremely rare. Absolutely priceless and still racing!
I love the sepia version of this, but had to post the red one because it is a Ferrari!

Thanks Phillip,
I thought the "red" was okay in this one.
I'm sort of regretting the border colour, now that I see it again. Should have gone with plain black.

Hi Mark,
The yellow one in your attachment is a 427 AC Cobra. Unfortunately it is most likely a nice replica rather than the real thing. There are only a handful of authentic 427 AC Cobras.
The replicas vary in value and quality. Some are fantastic!

I love these types of front grilles. I don't know much about the inner workings of these cars, but a big front open grille like this means a radiator, right? Speaking of grilles, get a load of this one-->

what is this car, a cobra?

Thanks Mark,
I took this one at the Lime Rock Vintage Festival last September. The place was swarming with middle-aged millionare, race drivers. There is a chance that they might do them some damage and sometimes hurt themselves in the process. But, on the other hand at least they are using these fantastic machines for what they were made for.
It is such a treat to watch them in action. The smells, the sounds and the atmosphere are electric.

One thing I keep thinking about when I see these guys race these things is I hope they don't wreck them. Like this one, a rare and priceless Ferrari. It looks right out of the showroom. I like the way you took the photo. Looks as if it's coming out of the frame.

Thnanks Thilo,
It is nice to get some extra bonus recognition. I noticed you were there a couple of days ago too.

Richard,
This one is in the "real" Ferrari red, unlike today's cars that have a little orangy glow to them.

Stunning car, and I am glad you posted the colour version in this case. Red and Ferrari belong together, although there was a famous endurance team in the 60's that raced bright yellow machines.

Toni,
I agree. That seems true of most people in my friends box as well. I am usually right when guessing a Marcus, Thilo, Fadel photo for example. Although there may be a few people posting Fairy type shots from time to time, I can always predict if one belongs to you.

You DO have your own style. I can usually pick your pics out. Occasionally Fadel or someone else does an auto, but there is a distinct difference between your styles. I can recognize Fadels usually as well.

Fadel,
I don't mind doing a little bit of that, but it can get so time consuming. I think the most I ever did was on a 1940 Ford a couple of months ago. I took a bunch of crap out of the background and put some clouds in there instead. It worked out pretty well. I will do more of that as I get more comfortable working with Photoshop.

Well there's another alternative, take from the angle that you like and then PS the junk out :)

I'm liking this one more and more myself.

You guessed right Fadel,
Many times in situations like this, my automobile photos are very close cropped because of unwanted elements. As it turns out, it has almost become a trademark style of mine :) I try to make the best of it, but sometimes I wish I could just take these cars and put them in an open field without all the unwanted junk surrounding them.

I definitely prefer the coloured version of the two...has so much more life in it.

Gotta love that Ferrari red. Great crisp capture of this old school Ferrari Andre.

Beautiful colors and sharp all around, I guess you picked this angle because of the background. Very beautiful work Andre!

I agree Rosario!
Red is the only colour for a Ferarri! Or Maserati, or Alfa Romeo!

Toni,

I think that is one of the best compliments that I could have! To have a style recognized in the thumbnail and then have it opened for larger viewing... what more could I ask for in this group?
Now if you said you recognized my style and then passed right over it, that would be a different story :)

I looked at the thumbnail and thought -- oh cool! Andre has posted another adorable car (I hadn't seen your name yet..:) The red IS really cool...I think it is my fav, although I need to go see the sepia close up. I'll let you know...lol. Antonia

I agree Inji,
I think there is a way to make a colour shot look like it came from that time period too. Usually when you see colour shots from this era in books, they look much warmer with lots of orange glow. But I didn't attempt that with this shot.
Thanks for your nice comments.

Unfortunately I have only owned one of these in my dreams Luis! :) :)

Very few people have had that pleasure. I think this one was #9 or #10 of it's type. Not sure how many are still left. But, not many. The worth is in the Millions$.
Also, the camera is not one of the super Fuji pro series, only the lowly S5000. fixed lens. Still... a very nice little camera.

Thanks for commenting and for visiting.

I sincerely hope this belongs to you but if that's not the case I understand. Very few people can afford a fuji and a Ferrari. Thank you for sharing.
