Linda I don't think it will ever erupt with lava, it did destroy antigua with it's earthquakes and a lake which had formed in the crater flooded the city back in 1773. There are a couple of active volcanes on the other side of town, but luckily there is a big barranco which doesn't allow the lava to reach us, although we quite often went to school holding umbrellas due to heavy ash falling. A classic, beautiful shot of Agua, Alison! I love the 'Llama del bosque' flowers along the tree-line. This is from the roof of our house, isn't it?

Beautiful capture Alison, A nice angle in your composition that brings the eye up to the top of the volcano where the clouds bring it around and down to the lovely reds and greens...a majestic scene, not sure about the sleeping in the crater part..hahaha...and what an informative about. I can kind of understand the people living there, in spite of the threat, especially if it hasn't erupted in, as you say, 'historical time', but the idea that it could at any time would concern me. I'm sure they have geologists checking on it from time to time. If it did erupt would the people have a place to go to evacuate? Nice work Alison...Linda

Haha... thats one way to have a warm bed! Nice bit of 'underfloor central heating' I think!
Well shot Alison. I like the composition - particuarly the clouds around the right hand edge of the volcano. I do feel it may be able to stand a bit more saturation and contrast though, especially on the mountain itself. Lovely shot though!
