About Another one of my niece Brielle, I have to get as many as I can while I have a willing subject. I converted this one to B/W in photo shop, I feel the tones could be richer but I couldn't achieve it.
Check out Brielle's images at member # 95277

Great photo.
I use a plug-in for Photoshop called Power Retouche for adjustment of color, etc. and conversion to B&W. It has settings that produce the same effect as B&W film, i.e. Tri-X, Asa 400 etc. It gives better results than converting to B&W with Photoshop.

Lovely portrait!

Obviously the crop results in
a different picture, both versions
work nicely.

She could not resist not looking at you :) but you still have managed to capture her in such a restless pause. Great portrait and wonderful in B&W tone! Cheers Alison.

Alison, your niece is both a natural model and beautiful. Your made a good choice of converting this shot into B&W as it is more powerful than a colour shot has to offer.

Everyone loves the hair, me included. I think the tones are fine. You have nice rich blacks, whites, and the whole range in between. You caught a nice expression too.

Great pose and I like the blowing hair, Alison! I prefer your version, as I think the closer crop introduced some noise.

beautiful portrait of your NIECE, wont make that mistake again :) I love the way you seem to get these great expressions and poses from her. the lighting and tones are really nice as with all your portraits. very nice.... by the way no offense to gustav, but I dont see what he has done as enhanceing, but giving it a more darker less appealing look to it...

Hi Alison! I'm back!!! :-)

Nice composition although I think Gustavs version is an improvement. The windswept hair looks great too. A touch darker in the toning would possibly help a little too but overall a fabulous shot!

This is really nice, Alison - I love the wind in her hair! I like Gustav's crop, too, because her knees seem a little disconnected without there being more 'context' for them. The background, the lighting and the black and white are all great!

A nice diagonal with her body Alison, love the windswept hair and of course the title, an excellent dof to isolate her from the background...good lighting and I think your tones are ok here...I see a good gradation of greys, nice definition in her hair...well done...:):)
