Hi Alison, I use a free program called 'Sharp Control' (I'll e-mail you a copy!) PhotoShop (and other programs) has a feature called 'Unsharp Mask' that will do this, too, but I find that the one in PSP tends to either sharpen things you don't want (like grain) or introduce a kind of halo fringe around objects. Sharp Control has a much more sophisticated way of handling the process where you don't get the undesired effects!

Dirk, I had nice light coming in the window, but for some reason, most of them were slightly burry, I probably have a shaky hand. Alison

Absolutely lovely portrait! There is evidence of a bit of camera shake (low light?), but to me this only adds to the immediacy of the shot. The catch-lights in her eyes are perfect. It just shows how window light is so superior to flash.

Dirck how did you do the sharpening? Jaelle is Seans good friend Marios sister, the color one came out really nice, but for the project I did it in B/W. I was having some problems with the natural light getting it in focus. I may post one in color with the flash.

This is a really great portrait, Alison! You captured a very natural, at-ease expression, and the soft window lighting (I'm guessing) is perfect! I think you got Mom's knack at making people comfortable and then catching just the right moment. The only (very minor) problem is that it's just a little blurred, which seems to clear up nicely with some sharpening. Great work!
