I'm glad the unsharp mask worked for you - I reckon your next photoshop challenge should be to add a simple black border around your next photo - it'll look super!

I've just tried what you suggested with unsharp mask and it's improved my shot 100%. I don't know much about photoshop, I only really use it for cropping and resizing. I'll definitely be exploring more of those filters now. Thanks again.

Thanks Colin, I just used the 18-55 lens that comes with the eos 300d. It took a few shots though, everytime I got my lens close enough it flew off!

Tried to get some of these same species, on the scottish border, but my point and shoot autofocus, couldn't manage it. Nice sharp detail, on both fly and wheat. A 7.
You've shown how it should be done, Scott.
Well done.

I can't believe this is a first attempt - can't wait to see your next! Do you have Photoshop or something similar? I think if you applied a little 'unsharp mask' to the damsel fly it would sharpen up the detail even more. Super shot.

Excellent macro of the damsel, Scott! Great clarity and DOF. Dave.
