Brandy thsnks for your comment, and sorry it has taken a while to get back to you - will be happy to drop in on your uploads and be of any help that I can. You also were saying you were not having a lot of luck with the larger lens. I tend to use the smaller ones most, but my partner Den Thompson uses right up to his 'bazooka' as it's known. I am sure he would be happy to answer any queries you have as well. I have had a play with this one, as I love it so much] put the hat on a separate layer so I could brighten etc and then did the same with the rest of it. The grey and the red are such a marvellous combination and it is a stunning portrait, she must have been thrilled with this. Margaret

I work really hard to keep from super saturating the reds with my D70, but in this picture, those almost over the edge reds really make the picture. The subdued greys and bright reds really compliment each other. The dress is fine, but I wish you could have somehow softened her neck line so it doesn't look so cut and pasted.

Do you know the poem about old ladies in red hats and purple coats - or is it the other way round? Your red hat series put me in mind of that! Nicely done!
