Richard if you use photoshop all you would have to do is to clone out the seam between the floor and backdrop material.

Wonderful photo.... very warm and caring.
I have not moved to digital at this time, but am I ready the shutter speed correctly at 500 here. That is an amazing sync speed!

I'm surprized that no one said anything about that backdrop meeting the floor earlier ... I realized this after my post. ( Sometimes I get too excited and post immediately after the shot ). Yeah ... I modified this setup to have gifts and poinsettas ( sp? ) to hide that seem as well as center the christmas tree a little more. But, parents are still love it. Thanks for the comment.

Great result from the new D1x. Good tonal range, colour, detail - the only slight distraction for me is where the backdrop meets the floor. Otherwise a great pic.
