I like the original too, I'm probably reading too much into it, but the overcast adds to the "message" (not taking it as a political statement -lol!) But the tip of the flag, all of it says a little something. Good job!

I like this too, but I think the recrop suggested by PJ takes away from the flag which adds so much to this image. IMHO.
