Hi Arwa,
just my 2 cents (euro)
I definitely prefer this one, the composition "works" better than the other shot, and the complete words on the wall give a better sense to the whole scene.
Really a fine shot Arwa.
cheers
Giorgio

Hi Arwa,
I prefer this version! The tones are very beautiful. The girl is very full in her book. She's laughing whith the mouth and eyes.

Very nice composition on this one, Arwa - I love the sinuous lines formed by the position of your friend's body!
I'm generally a big fan of vignetting to focus the viewer's attention and to lend a mysterious feel, but in this case I have to say I'm not sure it fits the mood.

Fantastic work Arwa, the toning you achieve is simply remarkable.

This is a fine photograph :-)

Best wishes,

No dialog is one of my all time favorite work, if I calculated the images that im proud of in 2004 they are only few about 6 and no dialog is one of them
In the other picture my friend couldn?t see me at all from behind all the chairs few shots later she did notice me so it lost that ?candid? feel that?s why I didn?t post any more portraits of her though I have over 20!
Thank you dear mark for your honest feedback I appreciate it a lot! :)

Dear Arwa, I'm going to give you my honest opinion on this. I actually prefer the shot "No Dialog" on page 2 because the girl/model looks like she doesn't know you're shooting her. On this one I feel like she knows there's a camera pointed at her - she has that look slightly. Sometimes it's hard to make the person in front of the camera TOTALLY block out the knowledge of the camera being there so there's some very slight tension in the face. It's still a good shot I just like the feel of the other one a bit more. What do you think when you compare the 2 shots? So there's my humble opinion, hope you don't mind - Mark

Thank you my friend!
after comparing the two images I see what you mean!
The contrast was higher bringing out the edges
Thank you so much for all your help and support!

I think the other one was a bit more moody and mysterious... it let my imagination take a larger role as I looked at the photo. Also, I think some of the ps work was more effective... namely the darkening effect around the edges..

I like this composition better because of the increased space around her. Very nice photograph and sepia tones.

Quiet moment. Regards, Andree

Hi Arwa,

going back to the basics? hmmh... While I like it that the whole word is visible now, I don't think you should re-arrange personal style things like vignetting. Just my opinion ;-)

I liked this one before, and do like it more with the new arrangement, now the written words match the title, but with your permission I did some cropping and bottom arrangement, that?s to bring more the young lady close to the monitor for more attraction and did eliminate the bottom table. This image has a soft artistic attraction, and well prepared composition. Saeed
