I badly need a redhead for my website gallery. . this one will do if she's over 18 and doesn't always look so irritated. Let me know.

The one I like best is to copy the image to another layer. Use the Gaussian Blur on the top layer (between 3 and 6), lower the opacity of the layer to about 50%, then erase where you want the detail back. (i.e. eyes, hair, mouth) I got it from a great book I have for retouching tricks. "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby. Fantastic book with tons of information. Hope this helps. Great portrait though.

Laura,
Thanks for taking the time to make your comments. I guess the darker skin would be makeup as I didn't mess with her makeup in Photoshop. I'm trying to figure out how to smooth the skin textures without it showing.

I don't know if its PS or makeup, but her skin looks quite darker and warmer in the middle of her face, than her forhead and chest/shoulders. Since dark colors recede, it kind of pushes her face in. A lot of fair skinned people will choose darker makeup to give them warmth and a pseudo-tan though. As a makup artist it breaks my heart, because ivory skin is just so beautiful. She is a beautiful girl! Great red hair and the green background really sets it off.
