Yes Ramon, a soft focus on the flowers in the background would have set the vase apart more clearly. Good thinking. Thanks for your input!

Ev, what would it look like to remove all the background, leaving just the vase and the daffodils behind the vase? I think I'd also leave out the two top daffodils and just have the mouth of the vase being the tallest part of the composition. Background should be very plain, maybe even just black. I have no clue how that would be done but can visualize it...
