About Had to go over the bridge to do a class at the Technical College this afternoon, so on the way I drove under the bridge to see what needed to have its picture taken ;-)
these tugs a are frozen in and waiting for winter to loosen its death grip on thier hulls so they can get back into the harbor and once again be free to work . Soon the Ice will turn a deep black and we can be assured that winter has once again passed. And not a day too soon.

I have to agree about the sharpness here Jim, still a very good picture though and the colors are still very vibrant.

Living in the south, this photograph helps me begin to understand the kind of winters that Wisconsin experiences. Thanks for sharing, Rodney

Generally to get to the black stage it has to have all the snow off of the top. and then the sun starts to work on it. once the snow is gone and a skim of water covers it, I think you actually see the water color coming through the clear ice. A better term i should have used was "honeycombed" by this stage of melt it has last a lot of strength and is just short of being "rotten ice" then its gone.

And to try out that new camera, just couldn't resist could you... Looks pretty cold and could be some time yet before that goes away. It was only in the 60's here today.. Don.

isn't it amazing how those colors are in such a contrast with reality? For me, at least, colors bring movement of some kind, and here you can see those ships totally stranded and quite helpless...
me like it :)))
