About The full title is: "Can I interest you in some double glazing, sir?'!! But it wouldn't fit in the title space!!!

This old cottage looks like it would benefit from new windows, but I don't think double glazed PVCu would go down too well in a village like this!

This was taken ona grey and wintry day in a little village near Salisbury, whose name I've forgotten.

It's dedicated to Mrs. C. who was pining for a cottage. Can't wait to get back there in some decent weather and get some more colourful shots!

Have a great Sunday!

Best regards, Chris

Thank you Mr S! I'll take a drab and "colourless" cottage any day and Yes, I would love to see this poor, almost derelict cottage with some splotches of colour.

But isn't that tree just too wonderful? I like the rough textures on the walls, and can just imagine those climbing roses (?) in Spring when it comes into first flush.

Great shot Chris - drab and all, but this is a true reflection of Winter.

I think the grey sky and cloud goes well here, Chris. Nice detail in this very photogenic cottage!

This is what we call a Fixer Upper over here. You have made the best out of this grey day. Nice saturation of colors. Don.

How will you know how to get back if you've forgotten the name ?
Nice image.

The "indecent weather" did give you an interesting sky & rich tones though. Must count our small blessings I guess. lol Dottie

I would second that what Andrew and others said: you were lucky with the weather for this shot ;-) Lighting and tones are just right for this house. I would only come back and shoot a vivid coloed one if Mrs. C. asks for a brochure...

I like the soft muted colours Chis and the detail you have captured in the stone work. No harsh summer shadows. Good work as usual. Regards John

Good question, Carla!
I guess I'm just a bit of a colour freak! )
I like the vibrant colours of spring far better than the muted tones of winter. But I still like this shot!
Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment.
Kind regards, Chris

Beautiful! I love the orange burst of color from the tree on the right. The clouds compliment the weathered cottage. Why reshoot something that is wonderful as is.

Never mind the better weather, I think the cloudy sky, not says typical English weather, but it works well with the very autumnal colors that make up the foreground. It just wouldn;t have the same feeling without the clouds.

Nice shot, great title! ) I went to art college in Salisbury many moons ago now. I certainly miss the countryside around there and villages that time forgot.
Cheers, Simon.
