About Dull and dreary overcast day and stumbled accross this old derelict Farmhouse. I used a grey/grad to take the bland sky out of the scene. I hate tos ee good buildings like this go to waiste :(

Beautiful, moody scenery.. I think the overcast day makes for perfect lighting. Really brings out the rich colours of the scene.

Its amazing how long those building's can stand. Look's like the cows escaped long ago. There is a grandness to it too. Very rich in colors too.

I have always sad feeling when I see these old houses built sometimes ago and now neglected. When I see how they have been built, the knowlege that the elders had, I regret that we will loose a part of it. I'm always astonished that they succeeded to build such farmhouse and that some of them are always standing, whatever their age..
This is a nice shot Howie.. The perspective is good, and the colors nice.. Congrats Howie

Many thanks for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. Really am going to have bite the bullet and get a 50mm MK II for the price you can't go wrong. Really want the 17-40 but funds won't allow for a couple of months. But then again might be better to just go with prime lenses.

Thanks for the comment Dave and hope all is well with you. I like the work you've been doing but think you need to get a better lens than the 35-80. You can get a new 50mm MK II from 7dayshop for around £55. I have this lens and for the money it's unbeatable. Im finding more and more I use primes, the better they are. Someone recommended to me to get the Sigma 20mm f1.8 EX DG Aspherical RF which Im considering. This gives about 31mm width with the crop factor and the 10D. The bonus is though, its F1.8 which is ideal for cathedral shots etc which I know chester has :)

Im seriously considering getting rid of my 17-40 and going primes all the way.

If you want any info on anything email me. I wont put my email here as it will take the message out. Click on my name and my email address is there mate.

Have a great New Year :)

Howie
