Thanks for the comment. I noticed the street light after the fact also. It is kind of bothersome, but I feel that the traffic lights draw your eye to the person and the right hand side of the photo. If i had to do all over again, I'd make sure it wasn't there... Hindsight... 20/20
The Rebel? I feel that the rebel is the best Low End D-SLR on the market at the moment. I feel confident in saying that becuase I've had the ability to test many other D-SLR's at the camera shop I work at. There are certain drawbacks... no PC sync. A seemingly not so sturdy (plastic) body. The conversion factor of 1:6. But all in all I am quite happy with the quality of images, and over all production that I've gotten out of the camera. The D20 just came out, and I don't feel that it is a significant enough jump in pixels, or technology to solicite a purchase from me. I will more than likely wait at least one more year before I purchase up in the D-SLR catageory. At that point I would make the move to a EOS-1DS Mark II or something similar at the top of the food chain.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I've been working in conjunction with local (Wisconsin) skate and snowboard shops to create a more diverse portfolio. I figure if I can cement some work around this area, then I can start getting more nationally known companies and publications to accept my work. As of now it seems to be working out well. I have relationships at the moment with Mentality Skateboards, Northern Athletik Clothing, Moda 3 Snow and Skate, Dwellers Snow and Skate, MidwestBMX.net, WiSkate.com, Eau Claire Bike and Sport, and Lake Owen Camps. There are many other connections to be made but it's a start. I'm also looking to make magazine submissions in the very near future.
Thanks again for the kind words. Just let me know when you think i can improve.
It has been quite some time since I have looked through your work, but the more I do, the more I begin to question why it is I have not heard your name anywhere else. This comment is not specific to this image, but you have some incredible work here and I honestly think you should take it further (if you haven't already). You have talent in this area and I think it should be your name in magazines next to shots like these. I can see you love it, and that inspiration carries across to me. Your images are wonderful.
Nice, it's hard to get a person to hold still long enough to get a good time exposure. He stayed fairly still. The only thing that bugs me in the whole picture is that street lamp on the top left, but it doesn't bother me that bad. I'm thinking of getting a Digital Rebel, can you give me some input on what you think about it?
